At SDA, we’re a specialised team driven by a simple but powerful goal: to grow the grassroots of soccer in Australia. We believe every child deserves the chance to play, have fun, and build real skills from a young age, and that’s how we positively contribute to the game’s future.
Our programs are designed with care: each session has a targeted focus, whether it’s dribbling, passing, shooting, or defending, so players make meaningful progress. We prioritise maximising time on the ball, giving kids as much active involvement as possible.
But it’s not just about technique. Community is at our heart. We foster a warm, inclusive, and supportive environment where players feel they belong, make friends, and learn together. And above all, having fun isn’t a bonus, it’s essential. We build training around play-based, energetic learning that keeps kids engaged and smiling.

Meet the owner of SDA
Emilio is a passionate Physical Education teacher with South African roots and Italian heritage, now firmly invested in the grassroots football scene across Australia. Having grown up in youth soccer programs here, he understands firsthand the value of quality training, and he’s determined to give kids a better experience than he had.
Emilio’s dream has always been to help grow Australian football in a positive, meaningful way. He wakes up to watch the Premier League at all hours, not just for the love of the game, but for inspiration in how he coaches. Through SDA, he’s channelling that passion into structured, high-quality training that feels accessible, inclusive, and fun.
As a teacher, Emilio has always loved helping young people learn, and now, he’s using that same dedication to coach. His goal: for every player at SDA to enjoy football, build real skills, and feel confident every time they step on the pitch.
For Emilio, running his own soccer academy is more than a dream, it’s a way to contribute, give back, and shape the next generation. He’s incredibly grateful for the support that’s helped him get SDA off the ground and can’t wait to see where this journey leads.
